SENIOR BIDS/PROPOSAL MANAGER, AVIATION INDUSTRY, CRAWLEY

We are currently searching for a Senior Proposal Manager to join our team in Crawley, UK.

The Senior Proposal Manager leads cross-functional team members and subject matter experts in the development of proposal artefacts for critical Avionics pursuits in the Information Management Services portfolio. The Senior Proposal Manager is a member of the pursuit team's leadership core (consisting of the Capture Team Leader, Program Manager, Technical Lead and Business Development Manager) and is instrumental in building a team-wide, big-picture pursuit vision, coaching and driving the capture team to make that vision a reality.

Major areas of responsibilities

* Building and sustaining successful relationships with global matrix managers and functional stakeholders

* Planning and managing the proposal activities, resources and risks

* Developing and kick-off meeting packages

* Following and tailoring established processes and procedures to ensure development of all proposal deliverables, including Executive Summary, Technical, Management, Past Performance and Cost volumes

* Leading strategy development efforts that result in clear win strategies, themes, and discriminators

* Leading proposal kick-offs, strategy workshops, Executive Summary writing workshops, and non-advocate reviews

* Tasking, organizing, managing, and coaching authors

* Leading internal writing reviews and non-advocate reviews to ensure consistent application of win strategies, themes and discriminators

* Identifying action items and holding teams accountable to deadlines

* Ensuring the development of a compliant and compelling proposal

* Using established proposal development processes, tools and industry best practices to improve efficiency and win/capture rates

Basic Qualifications

Successful candidates have experience developing winning responses for RFPs, RFIs, ITTs, PQQs, and unsolicited proposals. They are skilful communicators across functional areas, are decisive problem solvers across an array of pursuit issues, and exhibit the temperament to successfully resolve conflict. These communication and decision-making skills will be used to understand issues facing pursuit teams and distil them into innovative solutions to be applied across proposals. The successful candidate is a critical thinker, who poses insightful questions to guide the team to better refine win strategies. The successful candidate has high quality standards, a critical eye for the written word, and a breadth of experience to coach teams in applying best practices and lessons learned.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and requirements:

* Demonstrated experience developing high-quality proposals in a fast-paced environment

* Extensive experience working in a similar environment

* Proficient in Salesforce, Qvidian, and Visible Thread

* Shipley trained

Qualified as an APMP Practitioner
