Title: Avionics Technician - C-12 Program - San Angelo, TX

An Avionics Technician is required to maintain all aircraft electrical/avionics systems in accordance with and within the limitations of the FAA, the Avionics OEM, and the aircraft manufacturer. They are responsible for installing modifications on AF/Navy C-12 aircraft and working with other avionic technicians and installers.
Travel may be required for other sites to perform assigned duties. If required, you would then report to the Regional Manager (or a representative). Requires the ability to organize, coordinate, work efficiently and set priorities. Working knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) COMNAVINST 4790 Series desired. Must be able to deal courteously with military and company personnel.
The primary functions of an "Avionics Technician" are:
? Perform Avionics and Airframe installations and modifications.
? Perform ACI tasks.
? Inspect avionics and electrical systems at specific intervals as required by Vertex Aerospace, the Government and the FAA, primarily during scheduled aircraft periodic inspections.
? Troubleshoot systems malfunctions and perform necessary corrective actions.
? Remove and replace defective components.
? Comply with Technical Directives, i.e., Service Bulletins, Instructions and Airworthiness Directives as directed.
? Perform electrical maintenance on Ground Support Equipment (GSE), as required.
? Perform Avionics/Electrical Troubleshooting and repair at any Regional Site.
? Perform other tasks as directed by Site Management, Avionics Lead, and Lead Mechanic.
Key Performance Indicators
- Amongst other basis, the performance KPI of the Group Lead Avionics Technician shall be linked to the Capabilities Program Manager's achievement of obligations and company requirements. It shall cover amongst others the following areas: Successful programs/project delivery in terms of scope, schedule, cost, quality, etc. Additional KPIs shall be developed by the Capabilities Program Manager, Senior Lead Engineer and/or PMO management, subject to the requirements of the PMO and the business as a whole.
? High School Diploma
? A minimum of five (5) years of recent hands-on Avionics/Electrical experience.
? A minimum of three (3) years King Air "hands-on" experience. Note: The 3 years of King Air experience may (at Management's discretion) be waived if the candidate has demonstrated proficiencies in comparable areas.
? Ability to read and interpret OEM wiring manuals, blueprints, and other technical related data.
Position Competencies Required
? Must be able to travel to other locations requiring an overnight stay.
? Must be able to lift 30 lbs. routinely and 50 lbs. on occasion.
? Environmental conditions are diverse and could range from an office environment where there is no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust, and wind. On occasion, individuals may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards will prevail and hearing protection is required. Office work conditions will expend approximately 10% of the candidate's time and approximately 90% will be expended in more harsh conditions.
