DESCRIPTION Our aviation engineering group located in Columbia, SC has a great opportunity for a talented Aviation Engineer. The position involves performing planning, design and construction engineering for airside and landside airport- and civil-related projects. The successful candidate will have experience in: Geometric layout of airfield facilities using FAA guidance, roadways, and parking lots. Pavement design. Hydraulic design including design of storm sewers, culverts, ditches, and sediment and erosion control. Development of construction plans, specifications, engineers reports and supporting documents and drawings in accordance with FAA and other agencies having jurisdiction. Preparation of construction cost estimates including quantities, capital improvement plans, preapplications and applications for funding agencies. Construction engineering services including general coordination, submittal reviews, responses toquestions, pay application reviews and periodic site observations. Communicating effectively and coordinating and/or leading team members. Providing support to the Project Manager to effectively communicate with clients regarding project issues Serving as the project task manager responsible for all facets of the task or discipline of the project. Being responsible for document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering PE Registration or ability to obtain the registration 3+ years of relevant aviation engineering design experience Experience in using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and MS Project Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
