The Aviation Manager for TUI UK&I is responsible for developing and managing relationships with external aviation suppliers and customers to buy and sell aviation capacity to support the requirements of the TUI tour operating brands.
The Aviation Manager will be required to source and manage quality and cost effective Summer only aviation capacity, buy and sell flight series and allocations and sell ad hoc flights to manage the Summer/Winter imbalance in the TUI Airways fleet, in order to maximize Group contribution.
What you will be doing
As the Aviation Manager you will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, contracting and managing solutions for Third Party Summer only aircraft, either on Fully Inclusive or ACMI contracts to meet the seasonal requirements of TUI UK & Ireland tour operations, identifying the optimal solutions in terms of cost and service. You will also be required to manage the sales and purchasing of flight series, allocations and ad hoc sales. Your key external relationships will be with third party airlines, tour operators and cruise operators.
It is also the responsibility of the Aviation Manager to agree additional cost service options and associated pricing on third party carriers and to ensure that all TUI UK & Ireland customers receive onboard service that is aligned to TUI Airways as far as possible.
On a day to day basis you will need to ensure that contract terms for third party sales and purchasing are communicated to the relevant areas of the TUI UK & Ireland Finance Department, that invoices received and raised are correct, and that payments are made in accordance with those contract terms. You will also be responsible for ensuring these details are correct in the Viking capacity management system.
The Aviation Manager also needs to monitor trends and changes in the market, collecting market intelligence to ensure commercial dealings remain competitive; and to champion change and continuous improvement within the Aviation Planning team
