Job description
Understand, organize, plan, and execute technical analysis in accordance with SNC policies/procedures, work instructions and specific Customer requirements; this may include providing training and assistance to Engineering personnel in the preparation and execution of their activities. Areas of analysis may include:Aircraft performanceStability and Control External LoadsAerodynamicsComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)ThermodynamicsAcousticsIcingFlutterMass Properties management Responsible for providing adequately trained and qualified analysis resources to Business Areas to ensure successful program executionResponsible for engineering analysis process improvementDirectly manages and provides direction and oversight to aerospace and mass properties engineersCareer Development: assisting senior management in providing opportunities for career advancement and growth for engineering personnel that balances personal aspirations with company objectivesPrepare material for, and conduct, periodic progress reviews for senior management and appropriate customer representativesProvide estimates of labor hours and material dollars required to accomplish analysis activitiesProvide technical support and engineering expertise to Business Development activities and product demonstrations as requiredAuthor, review and provide comments on ROMs and proposalsPunctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such as Time Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations (Anniversary and Annual), Salary Reviews, Succession Planning, etc.Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team training and adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance Regulations (internal and external) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by managementEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Bachelor s degree required in aerospace engineering, with a Master s degree preferred3+ years of managerial related experiencePrevious experience in an aircraft production / modification environment (preferably a DOD contractor)Previous experience managing an engineering organization highly desirableKnowledge of FAA and Military analysis and certification requirements highly desirableExcellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/work with othersSelf-starter and a problem solver; must have the ability to see the big picture and implement changes as requiredProficiency with spreadsheets, schedule programs, presentation software.IMPORTANT NOTICE:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
