Housing and Food Services (HFS) is pleased to announce an opening on our Bay Laurel Catering team for a Banquet Captain (Food Service Worker 3) .
Bay Laurel Catering offers custom-designed menus, outstanding service and door-to-door delivery. Events and venues vary from drop-and-go office breakfasts to large events with seated table service. Service staff are comprised of a team of hospitality professionals and student employees who are trained and mentored to provide top-notch customer service, the hallmark of Bay Laurel Catering's reputation.
This is a 11.5-month cyclic position that works full-time mid-December through January. During the winter months, the Banquet Captain may be offered hourly work up to 35 hours/week. The Banquet Captain's full-time work schedule will occur over five consecutive days and may include morning, nights and weekends.
?Act as a key service representative for Bay Laurel Catering, coordinating with culinary staff and service managers;
?Lead and actively participate in the set-up, presentation and service of catered events on the University campus;
?Work as part of a diverse team in an energetic, fast paced, high-volume environment;
?Deliver a quality customer service experience, including ensuring food quality and safety throughout events. Please note that this includes driving a box truck to service locations.
?Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card and Class 12 Liquor License within two weeks of employment, one year of related experience in catering and customer service, AND Possession of Washington State Driver's License.
?Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

?Interpreting instructions and communications written in English
?Communicating with customers in waiting tables and/or serving banquets
?Safely operating small trucks and delivery vehicles
?Working in environments where there is continuous interaction with guests and staff throughout the work shift
?Executing off-site catered events
?Maintaining punctuality and satisfactory attendance

?The salary range for this job is $2832 - $3746 per month, plus full benefits.
