Job description
The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Airport Manager.
Under general direction, the Airport Manager manages, plans, organizes and evaluates operations, construction, maintenance, line service, customer service, economic development and marketing activities for the Yuba County General Aviation Airport.
This position develops programs and strategies to maximize the use of airport properties for commercial and industrial use and performs related work as assigned.
The Airport Manager is a singular management position which reports directly to the Director of Administrative Services.
About the County & Airport Yuba County is situated in the Northern Sacramento Valley, approximately 40 miles north of the State Capitol in Sacramento and two hours away from San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. The boundaries stretch from the farms and orchards of the valley to the timberlands of the Sierras. Yuba County offers its residents the many advantages of a rural lifestyle away from the pressures of the urban areas. The County's rivers, lakes and outdoor recreation areas provide excellent hunting, fishing, boating and skiing opportunities. Our County vision is to create a "golden" future for Yuba County by inspiring a community of participation, embracing our unique history, and discovering the wealth of our untapped potential. Yuba County Airport (MYV) is a county-owned facility under affiliation with the Federal Aviation Administration.
A former military pilot training base, it is now classified as a general aviation airport. The airport property is approximately 1,000 acres supporting paved runways 14/32 and 05/23.
The main, north/south runway is 6,000 feet long with the cross wind runway extending 3,261 feet east/west.
Lighted runways and taxiways and instrument landing systems make Yuba County Airport and its environs a great place to fly.
Student pilots come to MYV from many surrounding airports to train for their private, instrument and commercial ratings.
Beale Air Force Base Aero Club operates a pilot training school with 5 aircraft and there is a fixed base operator with fuel and maintenance services.

There will be a new catering service on the airfield with plans for opening a restaurant to serve visiting pilots and their families.
To keep pace with interest, Yuba County Airport is expanding and improving. Current airport projects include the design and engineering for a new taxiway leading from mid-field south towards commercial/business properties along the southwest side of the airport.
Airport management is updating fee schedules for hangars and leased properties bringing them in line with the fair market value of surrounding airport charges.
Administrative Services staff is developing a variety of community events to increase local residents' awareness and participation in airport activities. With a new casino about to open and a diverse array of aircraft, MYV is poised to advance aviation in Northern California. MYV hosts business jets, fixed wing sport aircraft, and rotary wing emergency response helicopters.
Yuba County Airport also welcomes ultralights, powered parachutes and drones.
This provides the greatest opportunity for business growth, community involvement, and new pilot interest. Category: Transportation , Keywords: Airport Manager
