Job description
Summary: The Aviation Superintendent is responsible for field operations on assigned project(s) in order to achieve safe, timely and profitable completion of each project. Plans, organizes, and supervises specific portions of construction work for an assigned area of a large construction project. Maintains continuity of job progress and maximizes efficiencies related to the assigned area.
Must have experience in Aviation Fueling systems at major airports within the United States. Scope will be tank farms, hydrant systems and revamps including replacements, pipeline transport within the airport, tank farm electrical systems and replacing gensets, USTs, etc. Must be able to pass airport security clearance.
Short Term Duties: Initial responsibilities will be to observe projects currently being executed across multiple airports, gaining insight into project execution methods and requirements. That knowledge will be taken back to the Ref-Chem team and developed into a future project execution plan to self-perform construction on upcoming projects. Long Term Duties: Supervise Daily Operations: Supervise all project employees and coordinate efforts to ensure safety. Execute and ensure project objectives are met. Ensure compliance with all project procedures are enforced. Assure that quality requirements are being met and properly documented. Submit daily activity reports, updated schedules and quantity reports. Site Audits: Ensure Daily site safety audits and corrective actions are being performed, as necessary, to correct non-compliance item(s). Report finding(s) and corrective action(s) to the Project Manager and Loss Prevention Manager. Site Execution: Understand and execute the project scope and any changes that develop. Ensure field change orders are executed. Understand the project costs and execute proper accounting requirements. Understand and execute the projects quality requirements and procedures. Ensure that the site specific QA/QC plan is implemented. Understand and execute the site specific safety plan. Ensure the SSE program is implemented. Ensure necessary subcontract requests and subcontract change order requests are implemented. Develop a marked-up and as-built set of drawings to produce the record set documents and answer RFI's with assistance from Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager. Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures, working documents and standards. Read, interpret and understand site layout, structural, foundation and underground drawings.
Skills/Qualifications: Technical: Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety requirements and construction operations within an operating airport Experience in and out of AOA on industrial construction projects, specifically fueling systems and associated infrastructure Microsoft Office aptitude including Outlook, Excel, Word
Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift 20lbs

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED Associates degree in construction science or management or equivalent combination of training and work experience. 11+ years in the construction industry 5+ years management experience
