At the EBACE 2018, which took place this Sunday, Honda Aircraft presented the new HondaJet Elite to the world. The new version of the aircraft not only has a cosmetic upgrade – in addition to the interior improvements, the HondaJet Elite got some significant performance modifications.
The jet first achieved certification in December of 2015. Since then, the Honda Aircraft‘s engineers have been working to improve the interior as well as the exterior. Most recently, the amended type certificate was issued to the aircraft, which also has EASA certification.
“The HondaJet Elite represents Honda Aircraft’s continued commitment to performance, efficiency, and environment creating new value in business aviation,” said the company president and CEO Michimasa Fujino. “The result of innovation, design, and engineering, our new aircraft features several performance and comfort enhancements that, once again, set a new standard in aviation. We are excited to share Honda Aircraft’s latest technological feat with the world at EBACE.”
Due to additional fuel capacity and aerodynamical modifications, the HondaJet needs even less runway space for takeoff. It can also fly farther than before. The initial takeoff weight is maximum 100 pounds (about 45 kilograms) from the empty weight. But after improvements, it was increased by 200 pounds (about 91 kilograms).HondaJet Elite
Moreover, a new system of a lighted push switch was introduced. It is needed to warn about when the fueling needs to slow down in order to avoid fuel spillage.
Interior and exterior noise was reduced and a Bongiovi audio system was incorporated. More updates, such as a belted lavatory seat, coffee brewer and leather seats were introduced as well. The buyers will be able to choose between three colors - Ice Blue, Ruby Red, and Monarch Orange. The first deliveries to the customers will begin this autumn.
