Air Traffic: 18 Incredible Photos From All Around The World
We are used to sight of airplanes taking off. We see them when we raise our eyes to the sky, we notice pretty photos on our social media accounts but never like this… Photos of airplanes are impressive as they are but can you imagine seeing the picture of couple of dozens airplanes taking off at the same time?
Interested yet? Check out the incredible series of “Airportraits” – it is the work of Mike Kelley, an LA-based architectural photographer. It took two years for him to take and edit the pictures of planes departing the tarmac at eighteen different airports worldwide. After taking the pictures, the artist edited them into one for each airport to show the world the true and breathtaking reality of the air traffic.
“The inspiration behind these images was somewhat simple,” Mike claimed. “After the first LAX ‘Wake Turbulence’ image I knew that I had to do more, owing to how successful that original shot was. There are a ton of amazing airports, airlines, and airplanes out there that I had to photograph, so the plan was set in motion to try and capture as many as possible. Since I’m obsessed with airplanes, travel, and seeing new places, it was also a great excuse to get me out of my comfort zone a little bit.”
