The life of a pilot might seem like an exciting one. But sometimes it can be boring. Especially for a private jet pilot. Mike Wagner just happens to be a private jet pilot, and finds that he and his coworkers just sit around all day waiting for the actual flight to begin. So he decided to use his time wisely, and made this highly entertaining music video parody of the classic Beach Boys song "I Get Around", but instead as "I Sit Around".
Wagner flies jets for a private company, so he spends a lot of time waiting in the pilot’s lounge between flights. “Sometimes I’ll just have a flight in the morning and there won’t be a flight until later that night,” he said, “You can’t go to a hotel, so the only thing to do is sit and wait.” So he enlisted the help of his coworkers to put a hilarious spin on the mundane aspects of daily life. “It’s part of the job,” he said, “Every job’s got something kind of annoying that you have to do.” Wagner, who says he can “kind of carry a tune,” recorded the music himself. The entire thing took a couple weeks to put together, and instantly took off after he posted the video to YouTube.
The video begins with a shot of the 'Pilot's Lounge' sign before panning to Mr Wagner putting his feet up on a leather sofa. The camera then cuts to him fooling around on the luggage conveyor belt before breaking into song. Mr Wagner enlisted the help of his bored co-workers to put an amusing spin on the tiresome aspects of the job. The film took the crew a couple of weeks to create.
In the comical spoof called 'I Sit Around', Mike Wagner, from Florida pokes fun at the mundane parts of his seemingly glamorous job - mainly the amount of time he has to spend waiting in lounges and hotels between flights:
