Pilot Orders Pizzas for Passengers

Pilot orders pizzas for passengers - great airlines action! When bad weather had left the Delta airlines flight abandoned on the runway for several hours, angry passengers got an surprising delivery: the pilot ordered pizzas to the runway. Stormy conditions in Georgia left the plane waiting on the runway at Knoxville airport for several hours on Tuesday afternoon.

A Delta flight from Philadelphia, scheduled to land in Atlanta at 4pm, was forced to divert to Knoxville because of storms. After circling above for some time, the plane landed for an unexpected two-and-a-half hour layover on the airport runway. While the plane sat on the ground waiting for the weather to clear in Atlanta, pizza was delivered on baggage carts. And evidently, this is all part of a new pizza policy at the airline.

"Sitting on the tarmac, the captain orders pizza for the whole plane. A fun passenger got up to help serve it. Pretty cool" - said one of the passengers. The plane eventually continued its journey and landed in Atlanta after a total delay of three hours. Passengers took to Twitter to share photographs and express their gratitude at the impromptu gesture:
