Aborted crosswind landing with touchdown video

Aborted crosswind landing with touchdown video. In a crosswind averaging about 17 knots at right angles to the runway, this Monarch Airbus A320 on a scheduled passenger flight was hit by a strong gust at the wrong moment, so the pilot aborted the landing after touching down and did a go-around to land successfully a while later. This video shows the whole sequence.

A go-around is a safe, standard aircraft maneuver which simply discontinues an approach to landing. Go-arounds ensure passengers and aircraft are not placed in potentially dangerous situations. It's a commonly taught maneuver and are routinely practiced by all pilots, all around the world. Don't leave without seeing how Ryanair Plane Lands on One Wheel!
