Lufthansa Technik Malta strengthens competence in high-end cabin
Lufthansa Technik Malta is establishing itself on the market for high-end cabin modifications: in tandem with Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, Lufthansa Technik Malta is currently carrying out its third installation of a Lufthansa First Class cabin in an Airbus A340-600, thus demonstrating its skill at high-end cabin work. This large-scale cabin project follows last year’s successful cabin conversion for Etihad, the installation of the new short-haul cabin for Lufthansa, and the modification of four Brussels Airlines Airbus A330s. The First Class project involves installing both modern seats and a new inflight entertainment system.
Lufthansa’s entire fleet of 24 A340-600s is scheduled for conversion by 2015. The work necessary to equip the aircraft with the new First Class furnishings will take place exclusively during planned maintenance layovers in order to avoid additional ground time. “We’re proud that we have already completed two A340-600 First Class installations to the complete satisfaction of our customer,” says Stephan Drewes, CEO of Lufthansa Technik Malta. “We especially want to expand our business with high-end cabin modifications taking place in combination with typical aircraft overhauls. With our modern workshops, flexible maintenance docks and on-site engineers, we’re optimally equipped for this kind of programs.” Original source: aviatime.com |
