2012 London Olympic Games: british aviation companies fear delays and disruptions
British airline companies fear problems during the 2012 London Olympic games.

The airports are already very busy as it is, but such an event is bound to bring additional traffic with charter flights and private planes requesting access to airports in addition to the usual connections.

British Airways, bmi, easyJet and Virgin Atlantic have banded together to bring their concerns to the british transport department. They think that the airport security procedures should be changed during the games to reach maximum efficiency and a faster pace.

They are afraid of delays or even worse problems arising.

The government's reply to the concern that they raised is that they have already announced a range of exceptional measures in order to protect scheduled air services from disruption, and that they would go on consulting with the airlines about the topic (they had a meeting the next week). They seemed confident everything would be fine.

Does anyone know the type of change that they plan to make? I am wondering about the security issue which should as well be taken into account when so many people are gathered together.
