Flight School

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FLIGHT SCHOOL?

Identify your goals

Learning to fly has always been one of the greatest wishes of a man. Thanks to modern technologies and great aviation engineers’ efforts, it has become as easy as to drive a car. The focal point is to find the best and most suitable flight school that matches all your needs and meets your goals.

The first question you need to ask yourself is why you want to learn to fly. Do you want to fly for fun or do you want to become a professional pilot and have a future career in aviation?

Most flight schools can train students with zero flight time in the period of 10 months to 2 years. However, the length of any flight training program depends on your individual progress.

Make a list of flight schools and compare

We highly recommend you to make a list of flight schools and compare what each of them is capable to offer. Ask them to send you an outline for each pilot training program. Also, ask them to provide you with their pricelists for each program. Pay extra attention to the following:

  • How many and what types of aircraft are used in the school's flight instruction program?
  • How long has the flight school been in business?
  • Does the flight school offer housing, financial aid and additional pilot training?

If you have an opportunity, go visit the flight schools that interest you. Observe the facilities, simulators and classrooms. Observe the staff’s approach to flight training.

And finally consider the costs. When comparing the quotes, have in mind that even though some schools are more expensive than others, they might offer more lectures and have a ground school. Also do not forget about the extra costs that most likely will not be mentioned in the quotes: admin fees, headsets, medical examinations, etc.

We really hope these tips will be of some help when making a serious decision on choosing the right flight school for you.
